Michael was great. Service was top notch, gave us options to help us out and took the time with zero hesitation to educate us more about our system and common misconceptions. Did what he said he was going to do and when he said he would do it. No more shopping around for septic service from us.

I had to get a new septic due to an incident that occurred during my home remodel. This was very unexpected, but from the moment I called JLBJ out for an inspection, they were a pleasure to work with from the start to the finish. The communication and everything in between was very open and honest.

None of our drains or toilets were draining. I called on a Monday and was told it would be a few days before someone could come out, but it was most likely that I needed my system pumped. I mentioned that my sprayers were not working as well, but they insisted that it was a tank that needed to be emptied and I didn't need a repair tech. Two days later, they showed up to the house and said they would have to come back because it looked like rain. I'm not for putting anyone at risk, was willing to oblige thinking it would be first thing the next day.

Michael came out on a Saturday to a client of mine and took care of a high level situation that was very appreciative!

From the Google listing, checked 30 Aug 2026.

Several customers describe technician Michael by name. Brenton says Michael got them taken care of quickly, and Jimmy describes a Saturday visit that handled an urgent situation. Jimmie recounts him digging through muck and showing up at the door with a smile when the job was done. The jobs range from repairs to a full system replacement. Jaci, who needed a brand new septic after a remodel, says they "explained everything" from the first inspection through the installers. Grace points to the office staff that helped her get set up as a new customer, and Ian credits the company with fixing a two-year mess its predecessor could not.

Local Ground

Around Gilmer, the main drain-field limit is slow water movement: water leaves the soil too slowly for a conventional field to keep up. Site conditions on any one lot can differ from the map. See the Gilmer city page for the full soil profile.
