We’re sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience. At Abbotts' Construction, we take communication and customer service seriously and always aim to work with our clients to resolve concerns. In this situation, our records show that multiple attempts were made to contact you by both phone and text regarding the outstanding balance and project follow-up.  Our office staff sent you six emails and 5 phone calls before the lien was filed.  Our Marine Division Manager texted and called you after the job was completed to be sure of your satisfaction.  Unfortunately, we did not receive a response. Because the invoice remained unpaid and communication attempts were unsuccessful, a lien was filed as required to protect our work and services. We are always willing to communicate and work toward solutions when clients stay in contact with us. If you would like to discuss the matter further or resolve the outstanding balance, we remain available to do so.

We take feedback seriously and would like to clarify several points for transparency. Our company was contracted directly by your builder on this project, not the homeowner. Our company provided two separate proposals to your builder. One estimate was for the demolition of the existing house and the other estimate covered the site work for the new construction. It appears there was discussion between yourself and your builder regarding a scope of work during the demo portion of work that was never included in our demolition proposal and may have been included in your site proposal that we were never contracted to do. Our company fulfilled our contracted scope of work in full and completed the project ahead of schedule, including making additional efforts during the holidays to finish before the end of the year to keep the house from showing on your 2026 property taxes. Regarding the gate incident: there was an accidental impact with a temporary construction gate while maneuvering equipment. The situation was immediately reported to your builder’s supervisor, and we requested an invoice for the repair. The cost of the damage was subsequently deducted from our final payment. At no time did our team attempt to force entry onto the property. We stand behind the work we performed under our contract and remain committed to professionalism, communication, and accountability on every project.
