About Superior Sanitation

From the website of Superior Sanitation, read 15 Sept 2026. It describes what the company says it offers, not independent verification.

Superior Sanitation pumps septic tanks and installs new systems for homes in Pine Plains. Their site says installation and repair are tailored to the property, and that pumping keeps a system clean so it functions as it should. Those two jobs cover a tank through most of its life: routine pumping while things run well, and a new system when the old one wears out.

I’d like to offer my highest recommendation for Superior Sanitation. To give a little background, I found myself in a nightmare situation because of a complete hack job by another septic company. I hired them to install a brand-new, updated septic system because I was preparing to sell my home. During the sale process, the system failed inspection. To make matters even worse, the company that installed the new tank completely ghosted me, leaving me to deal with the mess on my own and putting my home sale at risk.

Make sure to get a estimate in writing before going ahead with work. Price jumped like crazy. Left area not flat for puddles to form. Had to wheel barrel dirt to fill holes myself.

I called the company and asked them if somebody could come next morning. The lady who answered the phone was very kind and polite. She told me that somebody will come between 8am and 10am. Next morning I got a call at 7:15am from Steve, he told me he was in the front of the house. Steve was very professional, he located the septic tank right away. And the job was done in about thirty minutes. Definitely would use this company in the future and recommend it to anybody. Thank you guys you are the best! Happy New Year to all of you!

Called to locate the septic and for a cleaning. They could not locate it with the camera. But arrived with the truck to clean and a backhoe. Charged 270. No other options were given at the time. Never again.

From the Google listing, checked 30 Aug 2026.

Reviews describe a crew that moves fast when a system backs up. Charlie says the crew came "within 2 hours of my calling" for a whole house backup, and the problem was solved quickly enough that the house stayed usable. Others tell of a next morning visit that started at 7:15 with the tank found right away, a tank pumped and a riser installed on schedule, and a botched installation from another company repaired in time to keep a home sale on track.

Around Pine Plains, the main drain-field limit is bottom-layer seepage: water moves through the soil too fast to treat effluent before it reaches groundwater. Site conditions on any one lot can differ from the map. See the Pine Plains city page for the full soil profile.

Before You Call

Aging systems come to one decision sooner or later: keep repairing what is there or put in a new system. If the drains have started running slow, one question on the phone is whether a pumping visit would show which way the tank is leaning.
