Septic Services in Phippsburg

Quoted from the website of C&C Construction and Septic Service, read 15 Sept 2026.

Every new system begins with the ground. A perc test measures the rate at which water is absorbed or dispersed into the soil where the septic system will be installed, and it usually follows the hiring of an engineer. Septic inspections start on a smaller scale, with a quick consultation between the homeowner or property owner and the company.

Prompt, professional and agreeable. Couldn't ask for a better experience. He even took the time to explain some of the features of my camper. Will certainly use this service again.

Extremely poor customer service..never returned calls or stopped by when he said he would. Seems like big business is top priority for this business as opposed to local community customer needs. Based on the fact that his Grandfather installed our original septic system years ago, we were very disappointed that this business was not sympathetic to our needs for homeowner septic repair.

Called, tried to set up an appointment, he agreed on a day and then never followed up. I was a previous customer and you would think that would count for something. Just as well, his competitor at least knows basic customer service.Update, I find it interesting you’re quick to respond to a review but can’t seem to follow up with a phone call. I call it like I see it Chris, I would give you zero star if possible.

    Response from the owner

When did you call Bruce? I have someone that answers the phone during business hours. I apologize if this fell through the cracks. It is a very busy time of the year and I try to give everyone the utmost attention I can. And after looking at your profile it. I wonder how a company would get more then a 1 star review from you....because thats all you have left for reviews for other businesses. Update. Thanks for your review, I take the good with the bad. At the end of the day as long as I'm doing the best I can. Thats all I can ask for, we all make mistakes W. A Bruce. Alllll of us. I'll take your 0 star and try to learn from it. Have the best day. I know I will!

Chris QUICKLY came (within 2 hours after we called!) for an emergency pump and augered out our blocked line so we were back in business. UNFORTUNATELY Chris has been very unresponsive for the last 2 months. We have been trying to have him inspect and likely replace our septic line (from the house to the tank) but he does not answer the phone or return text messages. During a chance encounter in a parking lot, he promised to send someone out the next day but since then (almost a week ago) we have heard NOTHING. We can't even get a bill from him for the pumping and "roto-rooter" work.

Chris and crew did a great job with the installation of our system but fell way short with the quality of loam laid down at job completion. Had to hire a landscaper to redo the area over the leaching field.

From the Google listing, checked 30 Aug 2026.

Speed comes up often in what customers write. Hannah says her parents needed their septic pumped on short notice and that Chris "got to us as quick as possible" through the mid winter cold. Lori called on a Saturday and was fit in first thing Monday, and Dennis heard back soon after sending a message and had someone there the next morning. The installation side earns its own good words. Chormann describes the crew as knowledgeable and responsive at a time when his business depended on the job, and Liz says she has turned to Chris for her own septic needs and sent referrals his way many times.

Before You Call

Selling or buying a house with a septic system raises one more question: what shape the tank and drainfield are in. Septic system inspections are part of what C&C offers, and the visit starts with a conversation with the homeowner. Ask how soon an inspection could happen if a closing date is already fixed.
