NEW CONSTRUCTION HOME OWNERS BEWARE!!!! Nothing but issues since move in and absolutely poor customer service when you reach out for assistance. First our garbage disposal was improperly installed, damaging our cabinet which had to be replaced. Next, Apline comes out to inspect my leaking dishwasher. The tech says there's no issue and leaves. GE comes out and notices in 30 seconds the water marks on the top of the door are from leaking, due to the machine being installed improperly, by Alpine. The last few months we've noticed an awful foul mold/poop smell from the sinks.
Response from the owner
Kate, we’re sorry to hear about your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few things.Alpine Plumbing performed the plumbing work for this M/I Home; however, Alpine does not install, service, or connect dishwashers for M/I Homes. Our responsibility related to the dishwasher is limited to the garbage disposal, which provides the connection point for the dishwasher drain. Because of that, issues with the dishwasher itself, its installation, or its drain hose/hookup are outside the scope of the work Alpine performed. We also want to clarify the concern regarding the material found inside the P-traps. A plumbing venting issue does not cause mold or biological growth inside a P-trap. P-traps are specifically designed to continuously hold water, which creates a seal preventing sewer gases from entering the home. Organic material, soap residue, food particles, bacteria, and other buildup in that wet environment can create dark or mold-like biological growth over time. An improperly vented drain would typically present itself through symptoms such as slow drainage, gurgling, or siphoning of the trap, not biological growth inside the trap. We take concerns regarding our workmanship seriously and are always willing to address an issue that is related to plumbing work performed by Alpine. At the same time, we want to be transparent about which portions of the home were and were not installed by our company.
